I have heard many boaters say there is nothing for yachtsmen in Milbridge – they think nothing is there. I have also read this in a couple of cruising guides. It is just not true. You will see how some people get this impression when they sail into port, and then I will show you what is available – within a half mile walk from the Milbridge Marina.
The “REAL” Downeast portion of Maine is the coastline of Washington County, and it’s also known as “The Bold Coast.” I am now beginning a series of “Port of Call” videos featuring other ports along the Bold Coast beginning with my town of Milbridge. I did produce a video of Milbridge a couple of years ago, but it was more for the motor tourist. This new one is aimed at the sailor visiting port.
In November of 2020, I released a video called “Port of Call – Lubec, Maine” and this video became quite popular. I have received a lot of positive feedback, so I have decided to continue with a “Port of Call” series of videos featuring Downeast Maine ports.
