This episode is Part 1 of a 2-part series about fabricating, fitting, and installing the breasthook in my 18’ pocket cruiser sailboat (S/V Ooh-Rah). In the first part, I demonstrate how I made the template, milled & prepared the wood used for the breasthook, and cut out the basic shape of the breasthook.
I will then show how I determine and cut the proper bevels on the breasthook, then finally fit the breasthook onto place and permanently secure it into position with adhesives and screws in Part 2 of 2.
