I purchased this Taiwanese made wood lathe back in 1993 and I’ve put it through some heavy use and many projects. Unfortunately, the lathe is no longer usable because the bearings are much too loose and cause the work to move about and vibrate on the spindle.
This first part of a 2-part series is about disassembling the lathe to remove the old worn out bearings so they can be identified and new replacement bearings can be ordered.
Part 2 will feature the installation of the new bearings, re-assembly of the lathe and some fine tuning.
