New Temporary Shop for the Deere (S-7 Ep-9)

portable shelter

Our John Deere Lawn Tractor has not been used in many years and has been stored outside. Neglect has taken its toll, however the machine can be salvaged, refurbished, and put back into service.

First: I need sufficient workspace out of the elements. The fastest, most inexpensive means to accomplish meeting this need was to invest in a portable shelter (basically a tent). I went on Amazon and purchased this (Amazon Description): ADVANCE OUTDOOR 8×14 ft Steel Metal Peak Roof Anti-Snow Portable Garage Shelter Storage Shed Carport for Motorcycle, Bike or Garden Tools with 2 Roll up Doors & Vents, Beige.

The price was $349.99 (US dollars) including shipping.

Impressions: Frameworks is pretty good and goes together easily. The covering over the frame is a bit cheesy in my opinion and the fit is not as good as it could be. The material could also have been made heavier and of better quality given the price. The so-called “heavy duty zippers” are not at all heavy duty and appear quite “wimpy” in my opinion.

This shelter is temporary though, and I’m hoping it will last long enough to refurbish our John Deere lawn tractor, old snow blower, roto tiller, etc. I guess time will tell!
