Drat! Bummer! Mother Nature teaches me yet another lesson!

We experienced a very powerful Nor’Easter storm last night with torrential rains and powerful, hurricane force wind gusts. The wind howled all night, and we lost power around 0415 this morning. There were several power outages in the area with many trees blown down during the storm.

We were fortunate to have our power back on by breakfast time, so I didn’t have to go out and crank up the generator.

A trip outside later on after the rain stopped, revealed the temporary new shelter I erected to work on our John Deere L-110 lawn tractor had completely lifted off the ground, pulling up all of the anchor stakes, and had blown almost thirty feet away and got hung up in small trees and branches.

The temp shelter has a bunch or bent and twisted steel frame poles. I have not yet been able to move the shelter from where I found it and so have not been able to closely inspect the cover for rips and tears. At this point, I’m not quite sure what I’m going to do with it or if I’ll be able to repair it. It cost me almost $400.00 so I’m hoping it does not turn out to be a total loss.

Looks like the Deere refurbishment work is going to be delayed for a while.
