Milbridge Commons Park is right on the ocean with fantastic views. It features veggie and fruit gardens that are there for any visitor to help themselves to fresh produce whenever it is ready to pick. The park also has benches and picnic tables, parking, a walking track, stone sculptures, and flower gardens in addition to the playground.
This Kiddy Playground Kitchenette was made from white cedar decking material purchased from Lowes. I didn’t publish any plans as there are so many similar variations available online. In fact, the inspiration for this one came from several pictures that were printed and handed to me with the instructions: “We’d like something like this!” The kitchenette is 4’ wide, 2’ deep, and 2’ high at the countertop. The back board at the rear is approximately 42” high and will feature several stainless-steel hooks from which pots, pans, and utensils may be hung. The wood knobs turn, and the wooden “burners” are stationary as they would be if they were real. Assembly was performed with 3” and 2” exterior deck screws. The plugs that fill in the screw holes and trimmed flush were made with a couple of 5/26” dowels cut down into plugs with my bandsaw. The plugs were glued into place with Titebond III waterproof wood glue.
