If you’ve ever been to a Cracker Barrel Restaurant, or maybe a few independent truck stops or rural restaurants, you’ve probably seen or have even played with these triangular peg games. They are fun to play, a little challenging for most, and make great gifts. You can simply buy them and gift them, but you can also make them yourself. That makes the gift more special.
In this video, I show you how to lay out the holes without having to do any measuring. This method will work regardless of the triangle size you choose, providing you use an equilateral triangle (a triangle with three equal sides and three equal angles).
You can use basic hand tools such as a hand crosscut saw, hand drill and an awl. A cheap compass will also be used along with a pencil, and you are good to go. You can use scrap wood but you have to purchase the golf tees that are used as game pegs. The golf tees can be purchased inexpensively though and they are available in a wide variety of colors.
Have fun!
