Last week, I began Part 1 of a mini-series about how I’m making my own version of the Mantus-Rocna wedge style of anchor. In that first part I explained what I’m doing and why. I also obtained the steel I needed for the project and removed the mill scale.
This week, you’ll see me lay out the cut lines and cut out all the parts that make up my version of a wedge style anchor. The parts are then prepared for assembly with exception of grinding bevels along edges to be welded. I intended to do this and include it in this video, but we had a snowstorm (this is Maine – situation normal) and I’ll wait until the snow melts before going further.
