The Mirage 5.5 sailboat I recently acquired is in reasonably good shape for a “free” project boat but does of course require quite a bit of restoration work before it will see the water again. To many folks, the list of projects may seem overwhelming, but the secret to success is to focus on one job at a time.

The restoration of the outboard motor mount pad on the Mirage 5.5 transom is one such project and it is now complete, can be scratched off the list, and I will now move on to another project to tackle. Completing any long, arduous journey begins with the first step, and then it is taken just one step at a time.
