“Simple Simon” is one of my older 8’ dinghy designs and is perhaps the simplest, easiest to build skiff designs in my stock design portfolio. You can of course build it full size as originally designed and intended; however, I suggest you consider building this dinghy in one quarter scale (3’ = 1’) and use it as a table center piece for a nautical twist during the upcoming holidays. You can make it a center piece with flowers or other decorations, but you can also use it to hold chips and dips, candy, fruits, cookies, and so forth.

My FREE 78-page manual on how to design and build your own flat-bottomed skiff contains all of the instructions, drawings with dimensions, and much more information about building your own “Simple Simon.” You’ll find all of the Simple Simon info towards the end of the manual and you can download your FREE copy in pdf format from this download page: https://www.downeastthunder.com/2020/12/free-dinghy-design-build-manual/
